  • I don't see how it could be better
By  (I am an Owner) on Aug 20, 2010

Plain and simple...I love this Silverwing!

    PRO:

    - smooth ride and power

    - more than enough power

    - EXTREMELY well made

    - very nice control, cornering, braking, "feels" good, surprisingly good

    - rides more like a good motorcycle than a scooter

    ...

    CON:

    - I do agree with another post where they mention that it gets a bit "jittery" at speeds above 75mph

    - seat, some really like it - for me, is a bit uncomfortable after even 30 minutes of riding

    - something is a little "buzzy" during take off and I can't seem to locate it (this is while the belt is solidly engaged)

    - I wish the under seat storage area had a remote release

  • Honda Hit A Home Run With The Silverwing
By  (I am an Owner) on Mar 26, 2009

I was one of the first Americans to own a Silverwing FSC 600, purchasing mine back in 2002. The bike has been terrific to own and operate; the only problems being three recalls - one for a defective rear wheel, the second for defective handlebar shims, and the third for a defective bolt in the kickstand. ...

These caveats aside, the Silverwing has been a joy to own and one which I plan on keeping for many more years.

It is quick - 0-60mph in 7.5 seconds

Fast - 104mph top speed confirmed by Garmin GPS.

The 'Wing is also comfortable to ride for long distance touring, while getting decent fuel mileage.

Operating costs have been very efficient overall, as I do most of the maintenance myself.

I have seen fuel mileage as high as 53 mpg on a two hundred mile trip.

When I purchased the Silverwing I thought its $7395 purchase price was steep; however in retrospect it was quite reasonable given that this is real motorcycle capable of long distance touring and operating for well over 100,000 miles before needing any major work.

    Highly recommended.

    Jim

  • Nice, but not close to the Burgman 650
By  (I am an Enthusiast) on Sep 22, 2008

The fellow who said this scooter is the best is in a dream world. It doesn't come close to the Burgman 650. I have owned both, so I speak from experience. I owned the first Silver Wing in 2002 before the Burmgan was out. When the Burgman 650 came out I bought one and kept the Silver Wing. It ...

  • Unsafe at Any Speed
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 16, 2008

I boought the Honda Silver Wing to replace my 05 Harley Heritage Softail Deluxe due to arthritis in my hips. While the Wing is a nimble around town scooter, it is quite jittery on the highway. Also, I compared mine to one owned by a friend that is a couple of years old and the finish on his is ...
