Best 600 on the market!!

This bike is almost perfect. The ergonomics are great for the track or street. One of the most comfortable bikes out there. Its by far the lightest, turns very easily, has amazing mid range power, very linear power band, and is the sexiest 600 out there! It would be nice to have a gear indicator and... a slipper clutch but the steering damper is nice along with the fuel gauge which the other 600s lack. Plus honda manufacturing is bullet proof and this is by far the most reliable and easiest bike on maintainance out there. Blinkers are quite ugly too but thats a cheap and easy fix. Dream Machine

Ever since I was 3 years old I have wanted a sport bike. I finally got this bike as my first street bike after riding on dirt for many years. I have to say this bike is very user friendly. The power curve is very smooth and gradual. The bike is fairly docile in the lower RPM and a Rocket in the ...Higher RPM. The only down fall is the throttle is a little to sensitive in first gear; getting on and off the throttle in first gear can get choppy for the inexperienced rider. I would not suggest this bike to first time motorcycle riders since it is capable of extreem speeds and accelleration, but if you have experience with motorcycles and are indecisive if you can handle a sport bike. Honda CBR 600RR: My 1st Sports Bike Experience...

After 2 years of Yamaha FZ6 Fazer experience, I was motivated to have a sportsbike experience.



Since I've been translating the news for our local motorcycle club web site (www.hmk.org.tr), I had enough information about new models, test reviews and comparisons.

Besides, I've been fol...lowing some motorcycle magazines as well.
After all these accumulated data and motivation, I decided to choose the all new 2007 CBR600RR.

I had doubt about radical riding position and aggressive performance of sportsbikes.
However, as soon as I rode it, I couldn't believe its incredibly low weight, agility, stability and ease of use. It's as light as my girlfriend's CBF250 :)

The brakes are incredibly powerful and the bike is very stable while braking.
Ergonomy, controls, indicators, dashboard are optimal, fuel level indicator is a great advantage.

Everything is as it should be, the material quality is not like luxury Italians but one of the best in Japanese class.
Led based tail light is very nice, visible and stylish.

The performance is incredible, no comparison with any touring machine. I feel like my body will leave my arms on the bike while accelerating :)

If I talk about something that I don't like ; the size of the bike is a bit small for a guy taller than 185 cm. It's deadly small and light.
To get rid of rear skids while the tyres are cold, a slippery clutch would be perfect. (New CBR1000RR is equipped with that.)
The single headlight, on which Honda still insists even on 2008 1000RR, one of the design issue that I don't like.

I've made many tours even on the roads with a poor quality asphalt or tarmac with my enduro riding friends, and I had absolutely no problem of fatigue.

Consequently, I suggest this great bike to all who is interested on middleweight sportsbikes.
(2009 models will have a combined braking system with ABS.)

My Black and Silver machine

My 2007 CBR600 is my 2nd sportbike. I started off with a 2007 Ninja 650R (loved that bike too but that's a different story) and moved "up" to the 600RR. I haven't looked back since.



Everything that the 650R could do the 600RR does better. Much better. It corners, accelerates, and ...does anything I tell it to do without complaint, each and every time. Granted the 650 was a tad more comfy and got a little better mileage....but not much.

It's perfectly suited to commuting to and from work and in the lower RPM ranges it's tame as a kitten. If you want an eye opener crack the throttle in the lower gears and get the tach north of 10K RPM and hold on.

I'm getting around 45mpg after nearly 8,000 miles so far. The original equipment on the 600RR is very good but I have done some upgrades:

25mm Ohlins fork cartridges
Ohlins TTX36 rear shock
Zero Gravity windscreen
Sliders
Throttlemeister "cruise" control
Woodcraft engine covers
Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires

While I hope I never need the sliders and engine covers I don't regret putting the Ohlins bits on. They're sprung for my weight and help a bit in corners but you have to hit a corner HARD to notice any difference from stock. Necessary? No, probably not, but cool nonetheless. Tires were necessary, the stock Dunlops were 'ok' but wore out at about 5,600 miles and the Michelins are quite an improvement if you like quicker turn in. My brakes are still stock and I don't plan on changing them as they're absolutely fantastic. Clutch pull is very easy as well even with the cable clutch.

This bike is also what I'd call "pathetically reliable". It starts every stinking time I push the button, everything works, still works, constantly. I've no doubt that this machine will last me for many many years to come.

Maintenance is a snap. You don't have to do much of anything other than change the oil and clean the chain. Wish I could say the same for my Harley. You know anyone who is familiar with the internal workings of Honda motorcycle engines? No? You ever wonder why? Honda's never break down, that's why!

My only gripe is that after about 2 hours on the seat it gets a bit painful. This machine is great for trips up to 100 miles or so but after that you're begging to stop. It's not a cruiser after all :) Wasn't made to do that stuff. The machine is fully up to a trip of any length if you are though.

I'd HIGHLY recommend this bike to any experienced rider but absolutely not as a first bike. The power is intense and will quickly bite you if you don't respect it. I'm willing to attempt a full 100,000 miles out of this bike, I think it'll do it. Read Full Review

Great Great bike.

This bike is the lighest 600 on the market. Great mid ranged power. Great flickablitiy all you have to do is look and it will turn. This bike is just great all around. From the track to the street even long distance rides this bike is perfect for it. Read Full Review
