Finest and most pleasurable Motorcycle I have ever owned or driven!

I have owned - driven many bikes in forty years. Most recently: a 2001 Yamaha V-Max, 2000 Sportster 1200, Before that a couple of Honda CBR 900's, the 1997 one which I rode through Europe for 3 months. Before that a couple of ZX11's.



No bike has brought such pure pleasure to me as this 2004 RC51.... It sounds like a Sportster, and handles like a CBR. Each gear shift brings a wonderful sense of well being as the sound from the engine provides the finest visceral experience of any bike I have ridden. I was all set to buy the Ducati Monster, but this bike provides a sound and feel like no other. For the first time my commute has changed from 13 miles one way to 45 miles. I just have to take the curves around the lakes, which add 33 miles to my commute each way. I just can't resist. I normally like to sleep as late as possible but find my self leaving the house 30 minutes early, so I can take the long way to work. Read Full Review

2002 RC51 - Very Powerful SuperSport

I don't have the option to choose 2002, so I'm writing what I think about this bike in 2004 section (which is the same exact bike).

Prior to owning this bike I've ridden 600 sport bikes for 9 years. However when I first got this bike, I was like "what did I get myself into". The bike is h...eavier than other liter class. The power it had was very intimidating. Took me few rides to get used to it, and now I feel right at home with this bike. Everytime I take it out I fall in love all over again. The power delivery in every gear is just awesome. I always took this bike on back road (twisties) and bike behaves as if it belongs there. Also took it to track couple of times and I love the way it performs. Lot of people does call this bike a Tank or a Pig, which to some extent is true but you need to know how to ride a big bike to get it's full potential. Every person I came accross who owned it before tells me that they regret selling it. a 12 year old shape still looks stunning.
Right now it has 22000 miles on it and the bike still runs very strong. A person who is considering buying this bike should have some riding experience under their belt, cause this bike is really fast. Read Full Review
