Well worth the wait

I have been riding motorcycles for 49 years. Scoot is nimble, good brakes, gets up to speed quickly, excellent fuel mileage. Has adequate storage, holds my full face helmet, leather jacket and gloves. Excellent fit and finish. Seat is a little hard for longer rides; however it wasn't designed to be ...a cruiser. Also seems light for freeway traffic. 3,449. plus Oregon DMV out the door in Medford. For what it is designed for It is a solid 4.9 stars. It does what it claims todo very well

This is a light scooter with freeway capability. No one advertises it as a realtime cruiser. I have had mine for over a month now and purchased it with a tall givi windshield and a 35 liter givi top case on back. I am around 260# and 6'-1" tall. I am getting just over 97mpg the last tank I che...cked at 700 miles or so. It will run up to 55mph comfortably and cruise there without much trouble. Above 55mph you start to feel how light the bike is. It becomes what we used to call "froggy feeling" when I was young. Not tremendously dangerous, just sort of loose handling and buffeted around fairly easilly by other vehicles. It does handle very well below 55mph. Turns very well. Leaning into a turn is comfortable as opposed to the smaller wheeled scooters I have done this on and did not feel comfortable doing so. It accelerates well up to around 50mph to 55mph and will keep pulling up to 65mph or so. I don't feel comfortable on the highway at 60mph or more. It is just too light for traffic and wind conditions at that speed for me. But otherwise it is great at everything else and acceptable for short runs as needed going highway speeds. I ride mine to work and back every day now using roughly 2 gallons of gas a week or less. The gas savings basicly cover the scooter loan and insurance costs. When added up the savings making it almost free to buy/ride. Only maintenance exceeds savings and that by only a few houndred a year if riding everyday like i do. Basicly I am very happy with mine and would recomend it for anyone wanting a fun, single rider, high mileage in town bike. Everything I Thought It Would Be

I've had my new 150 for about a month now. Before I purchased it, I was in a real conundrum trying to decide between a scooter or a motorcycle. Since I ride everyday, I decided a scooter was the way to go because it is so easy to jump on a zip around town. No worries finding parking. I've also had i...t on the highways. I'm 205 and the fastest I've been able to reach is 67 mph. Getting to 60 is easy and fast. On flat road with no wind the 67 for me was possible. However as soon as I hit a little head wind or small incline, I drop to 60 quickly. My first gallon of gas I was able to get 111 mpg. Now that was keeping under 50 around town. Once I got up to highway speeds. The mix of 50/50 highway/in town gives me 80 mpg. I know now that if I want too, I can get on the fast roads and cruise a little. However like I first said, in town driving was why I chose the scooter in the first place. I chose the PCX 150 because of all the great reviews it has received. For the purposes I need the scooter, I know I made the right choice. Last thing, the seat is a little stiff compared to other scooters I've had. I don't think you shocked anyone with the Asian pricing you gave. Simply because it is untrue. While pricing is better closer to where it was made (duh) it's not $800-1000. It's $2500 USD in Taiwan for example. Maybe you are pricing the cheap Chinese made scooters, not a Honda. Read Full Review

Had mine about two weeks and seem to be getting 80-90 MPG on mostly very short trips.



Easily cruises in the 50MPH range and tops out in low 60's with me (6'2" 225lbs.



Very good quality but it seems a little expensive - About $4,250 with all taxes, tag etc. here in Fort Lauderdale.



Main... concern with me is the complicated technology with no manual start and fuel injection. When eventually it needs repaired how expensive will this be?

Other than the fact that I am a little on the large size for this scooter I am quite happy with it for trips where I don't need to exceed 55MPH (None of the smaller displacement scooters seem to really be designed for taller, heavier people).

If you can afford this scooter I would say - highly reccommended. If your budget is tight this might not be the machine for you.

A luggage box is a good idea and I have ordered a Givi 30 liter Mo0nolock as more storage is needed. About $200 when including the required rack.

Best reccomendation I can give is if stolen (I am insured) I would get another one most likely. Read Full Review
