Great Little Duel sport Bike!
By (I am an Owner) on Oct 12, 2021I've had lots of dirt bikes over the years from the Trail 90's to the KLR650 and this little bike is perfect for what i like to do. It's light, sits low and is geared lower for trail riding and has surprising power to get me around whether in the dirt or on the road. I'm older and retired and this ... machine is just what I need to still ride in the dirt. It's also quiet and very economical. Well worth the $1850 I paid for it.

Cost efficient, all purpose
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 28, 2012I bought a new 2009 hold-over from the dealer around April 2011. First impression was that the machine was light weight, simple and strong. I live in an area where there are a lot of trails and back roads. Just as suspected the 230L performed perfectly, having a 6th gear also put me on I-95 going ... about 70MPH. I started keeping a fuel log each time I filled up at the pumps, driving "easy" with regular grade put me at 85MPG; I tried premium and super grade which put me anywhere from 88-90MPG. I highly recommend this machine for a daily commuter-all purpose-pressure washable machine.

Good Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 18, 2011Never had any problem with the police. It has a break light blinkers and State plates. Any policeman can tell its street legal. The ride is okay. Good for runs to the store or long rides in town. Also lots of fun on the trails.

Dual Sport ?
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 23, 2009Honda quality, Light, Good Balance. Purchased for wife to ride and haul on back of RV. Honda made the colors to fit into the CRF motif however we had to purchase the plastics for the 230M (Black)due to the fact three police officers did not think it was street legal.I cant blame them though (police) ... Honda stupidly made it look like an off road bike. The seat is as hard as my CRF450's seat so street riding becomes painful in about 10 min. and within 30 min. your butt will be asleep and you will be happy to be off this bike. Since it is supposed to be dual sport I still dont understand why honda forgot about the street part? So if you like to be uncomfortable and like to be pulled over...Waste 5K on this bike.
