Still going strong
By (I am an Owner) on May 03, 2013This is an update to my earlier review. I still love riding my Aero. The seat could be Lot more comfortable. I added leather-look saddle bags, a sissy bar, and luggage rack. It looks great. People say it looks new but it's four years old. I did not ride it much last year because I was deployed. ... I was so happy to get back in the saddle. However, I bought my third bike, a 2013 Harley V-Rod Muscle. Compared to the Muscle, the Shadow is underpowered but still fun to ride. Now I split my riding time between the two.

Great Entry Level Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 30, 2012I've had this bike for awhile now. Sleek, Easy to ride, Affordable, and pretty comfortable. The down side is that it lacks power, doesnt corner the greatest and is very top heavy. When i ride with my friends on there Harleys i cant even keep up.....Good bike but time for an upgrade...

New Rider
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 24, 2010I really enjoy riding this bike. Being a new rider to motorcycles, it's amazing how this bike handles for someone learning for the first time. I will say the bike does feel a little bouncy. I also notice that the shift must happen rapidly in order for you to feel a smooth ride. Therefore, I stop ... treating it like a HARLEY and more on the lines of a honda... HE HE... Just Kiddin... I still getting use to the bike, its been only one week and three days... So, I am doing good for a newbie....

Im shocked that you cant pick this bike up!
By (I am an Owner) on Jul 21, 2010Im 46 yo, 5'3 and have no problem picking this bike up (unfortunately I had to drop it to find out I CAN pick it up) Did I mention Im a girl? I chose this bike because Im short and it was the one that fit me best. The Yamaha V-star is a nice enuff bike, but I didnt fit as well in the saddle. ... I find the Aero quite comfortable. I am installing a Vista Cruise and new Lowers, and relocation arms for my hiway pegs, cuz Im short.
The Honda Shadow is a perfect bike for the one that fits it well. Ummm... me!!

Great Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 26, 2010I purchased My bike in January 2010 here in Michigan. I had to wait until the weather warmed up to ride it. as for the ride it is very well balanced. I get no less than 55 miles per gallon. I don't know where the rest say 35 to 40 per. I also felt that at 65 mph it seems like the bike is reving a ... little high. then I found out that at 76 mph the r's are about 4500 that is not bad. I have had it at 75 and 80 for 30 miles and it seems like the rev didn't bother me as much. now at 70 mph it just seems normal. I have been told that this bike will do over 100. this is just the nature of the bike. I love the ride of this bike and the price makes this an exceptional bargin. I would not hesitate to buy this bike.

Great Bike
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 25, 2010The bounce problem may be that you need to adjust the shocks. I weigh in at 170 and the bike NEVER bounces even at 80 mph.
The engine may only be 745cc but plenty of power to cart me around anywhere I want to go. Added some bags and I ride everywhere at any time. Getting around 55 mpg but ... I DON'T race it or see just how fast I can get to 60 mph.
Excellent bike and recommend to anyone looking for a first bike (unless you are a bike person).

Great first time bike for women.
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 13, 2009The Aero was my first bike. It was my 50th birthday present to myself. I had it for 2 months and then it drowned in a hurricane storm surge. I got a new one. Same color because I loved it so much. I am short 5'3" and the Aero fits me nicely with both feet on the ground. Easy to turn etc. After ... about 6 months I up graded to a VTX 1800C. I loved the power but , my feet were on tippy toe before I had it lowered. Would highly recommend the Aero.

not a womens bike..
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 06, 2009My hubby bought this bike for me. I sat on it in the showroom and fell in love with it right away. But when I was practicing at home, going in and out of cones, for my test. I tipped it over twice and couldn't lift it up. It was to heavy. My husband just said, don't tip it over.. funny?!! Now I am ... going to look for a smaller bike and he can have this one. Its a beautiful bike, low to the ground, lots of speed and it looks like a classic bike. Its just not for me..

Impressive!!
By (I am an Owner) on Jun 25, 2009Wow! What a great value! Bought the 2009 Shadow Aero back in March and have over 2,000 miles on the road. It's my second bike and can't believe how easy it is to handle. Felt very comfortable the very first ride. It looks greats, handles extremely well, and has plenty of power for shorter & intermediate ... trips. If you are going to do a lot of long distance traveling...you may want to move up to VTX 1300 if you are an experienced rider. All in all, I'm very happy and would recommend the 2009 Shadow Aero to anyone who wants to pay a lot less for a lot of bike. Honda got this one right!!
