  • comfortable ride
By  (I am an Owner) on Jan 27, 2017

I've been riding for about 50 yrs. and have owned many bikes. The Honda VTX1300 is overall a nice handling and looking bike. My first improvement was the seat. I replaced it with a Mustang touring seat with backrest. It made a world of difference. Improvements? It needs a 6th gear and a tachometer ...

By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 08, 2015

    I love this bike...everything about it ...except...it's begging for a 6th gear...dying for a taller 5th or a 6th gear...other than that, wonderful bike

  • Excellent Ride!
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 08, 2011

I have owned my VTX 1300 for 5 years and have had no troubles. I currently have about 19,000 miles on the bike and I still dont think its completely broken in. I changed the seats to enhance the comfort and other than that this is the best bike Ive ever owned. Their enough horsepower to get yourself ...

  • Best bike for the buck
By  (I am an Owner) on Jul 24, 2011

I started riding in 1963 and this is the best I have owned all round. I agree it could use another gear but always has the power to get the job done. I don't agree about the looks, my bike get's LOTS of looks but it does have $4000 in add ons. Pro R hipper charger and bigger jet makes it a beast ...

  • In my mind a great for the cost
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 04, 2010

Bought my 1300c 2006 Honda VTX 4 years ago. First bike ever for me. Learned to ride a bike first time in my life! Balance on this bike helped me a great deal, yes I had a few "first" learning on this bike. Didn't realize the windshield all ready on bike acts like a sail......nevertheless, I read ...

  • First Crusier in a very long time
By  (I am an Owner) on Nov 20, 2009

It is a wonderful bike for me. I'm 5'7" and both feet are flat on the ground. First real cruiser I have had; the candy orange has received a lot of compliments; I agree with mike's comment on the gearing. On the highway I am always wanting to go into another gear. But, I am getting used to it. ...

I like the 1300 more than my Yamaha Roadstar. It's lighter, handles better and gets 10 more miles to the gallon, about 50mpg. Most of the chrome on the bike is plastic. Don't like that much. It's geared too low for long range cruising. I always reach for another gear upon reaching 70 mph. I would ...

  • Great bike for the money
By  (I am an Owner) on Jun 16, 2009

I've owned my VTX for just over 2 years, and I must say, it is probably the most reliable bike I have ever owned. Plus, I still get compliments on what a beautiful bike it is! Women love the orange paint, by the way!

I'm a rather large person, over 6'2", just about 270 pounds. To ...

It is not the most comfortable ride if you're going out for 2 hours or more, but I don't think it was designed to be. That's what Goldwings are for...

  • 2006 Honda VTX 1300
By  (I am an Owner) on Apr 14, 2009

This bike truly deserves a top 10 mention IMO. It handles very well, has ample power, is PERFECTLY balanced, it sure doesn't feel like it's 641 pounds and looks good too. Certainly a bargain at under $10,000.00. I'd buy it all over again.

  • VTX 1300 C - Low, long, and aggressive ...
By  (I am an Owner) on Nov 14, 2008

... but probably not the bike for the "look at me I'm loud 'n' proud" crowd. However, if you tend to value your hard-earned penneys over "outlaw" trendiness, this version of Honda's venerable VTX line is a good place to go.

More than adequate power, complemented by better than average ...

The only compromise to ride quality is a set of very short-travel shocks at the rear. Even the most modest bumps in the road effect a disturbing assault on the spine. I intend to upgrade to a better system in the very near future; replacing the rather thin padded saddle should help also.

Paint and fit are exemplary, and chrome is extensive, making for an impressive looking ride at a modest price. (I bought my 2006 model in February 2008, brand new off the dealer's inventory at sizable discount.)

For those of you, who, like me, tend to look at the "bad-ass-for-a-weekend" set with a certain amount of amusement, yet aren't inclined to join the gentleman-sports-touring or crotch-rocket crowd either, take a look at the VTX 1300; I think you'll find a way to make your own statement of "non-nonconformist cool" - without breaking the bank.

By  (I am an Enthusiast) on Sep 17, 2008

This is a great bike for the long and short haul. Power is good in both street riding situations and for highway/byway travels. Riding possition is perfect for me (i'm 6 ft) and the seat though a little hard, was very comfortable to me and during a long weekend ride, 2 hours in the saddle was very ...
