Mileage

While I am basically very disappointed with the mileage on my trike, I have a suggestion. Do not exceed 68 MPH. This was the magic spot on my 2001 Ultra and seems to hold true on the trike as well. It probably has something to do with flat plate drag but in any case, you'll find this will give a not...icable increase in mileage. Read Full Review

Sixth gear is worthless, gas mileage sucks

We just finished a 400+ day on our new trike. We are talking basically flat Texas coast. Sixth gear was worthless and trying to keep the cruise sit while in sixth was impossible. Gas mileage was never better than about 22. At 100 miles the low fuel light came on. I am talking to the dealer on M...onday. This is my fourth Harley but I couldn't recommend the trike. Problems Solved

All the problems I had with my 2010 Tri-Glide magically went away when I sold it and bought a 2012 Road King Classic.

Some Tips

While I agree with the complaints I read here, there are some ways to help with most of the problems. First, if you will never exceed 68 mph on the highway your fuel consumption will go down by about 15%. If you can resist "Jack-rabbit" starts and stops you'll notice a difference too. If t...his is not enough, the trunk can accomodate a one gallon gas can. Secondly, try riding with your feet on good foot pegs and let your right leg bend outward. This will lessen the heat felt. Love the Trike - Hate the Heat!

I have been riding Harley's for many years. My first was a Heritage Classic. I have also owned a Honda Trike. Being a true Harley girl I sold the Honda and bought my Tri Glide. I love the luxury that the Ultra offers, but very disappointed with the extreme heat on the right side.



I have soug...ht out help from a few local Harley dealerships, after market dealers and the Harley factory. With no resolution, the best answer I seem to get is, "That's just riding a Harley, they are powerful machines that produces a lot of heat." My response is SERIOUSLY GUYS, get real. My Honda never had this issue! What I paid for this machine, I should be able to enjoy it without the scorching heat on my skin though leather pants and full leg leather boots! Read Full Review
