What a machine!

I have been riding for 45 years and my 09 Streetglide is my 6th new Harley so this is not my first rodeo. I went from an 06 Roadking which I thought was quite a nice bike to the SG. Nicest handling and riding bike I have ever been on. Plenty of power. I would however recommend the ABS. I left ...the dealer with 5 mi on the bike and with 20 miles on it a kid pulled out of the high school right in front of me. Bike just stopped, no skidding, no sliding, nothing, just stopped. I figure that one time paid for the ABS. $795 but I figure you will get some of that back if you ever decide to sell or trade the bike in. Read Full Review

Not sure why I waited, but am glad I did

I’ve been riding for 33 years, and have owned just about every brand. In 2001 I purchased my first Harley, Road King. My wife and I put 45K miles on the RK and were ready for a new ride. I had sworn I would never own a bike with a faring again, I wanted the a ride with the basic, raw look of a motor...cycle. My son, the Harley Mechanic encouraged me to look at the Street Glide last year, not for me. Long story – short, after the 09 upgrades I took the plunge, and haven’t looked back. Because we spend a lot of time 2 up we instantly noticed the change in handling, rider/passenger room, and comfort. The 96 has plenty of power to get us where we want to go. It won’t blow you off the seat like my tricked out 01 would, but it’s plenty to get you there. I changed the 4” windscreen, I made my own 9” and it works great. The creature comforts are worth the fairing, and it still looks great. The electronic throttle, cruse control, stereo, temp gauges, and ABS braking system round out the luxuries. I almost bought the 08, but am overjoyed that I waited for the 09. I did the stage 1, detachable tour pack, and Sundowner 2 up touring seat from the dealer, and don’t see much need for much more. 2009 Harley-Davidson Street Glide

I've had a 2009 Street Glide for about a month now and love it. This is my first bagger. I had a 2008 Fat Boy and thought it handled pretty well. The brakes and handling of the '09 touring bikes are wonderful but H-D has made a lot of other improvements. I test rode the new Street Glide in Daytona d...uring Biketober Fest and bought one a week later. Shorter folks might not mind the windscreen but it flat sucks if you're over 5'10". I needed to switch to a full face helmet to get the bike home on the highway. It seems like a problem Harley should warn customers about. It's not just windy it's turbulent in the extreme. 2009 FLHX

What a difference between the earlier baggers and the 09 FLHX. I had a 98 FLHRPI that was built out of the wahzoo...tons of tourque and power. The ride was less than desireable however. The 09 FLHX is as smooth of a ride as I could ask for. In response to the 5th gear whining, I haven't had that... problem at all. I have 500 miles on mine in less than 3 weeks and have had no problems at all. The stock power is ample as this was my main concern when buying the bike. It is quick as can be and great to ride!! 09 Street Glide

I purchased the street glide after a test ride on both a 08 and an 09 the differense was incomparable the changes made on the 09 were an exelent move on harley`s part.The ride and handeling of the bike is GREAT...I see alot of people are complaining about the short wind shield...stop being a woose... give the bike to your wife...i`m sure she wouldn`t cry about a little wind in the face... man up eh!!!!!
