After many visits to the Harley dealership, and doing my reasearch I purchased a new Streetglide as my first bike. I had rented Road Kings, prior to my purchase. No comparison, the streetglide is smooth and comfortable with ample power and torque. When I get on the highway for a ride I hate to stop. ...

  • The Best!
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 11, 2010

I'm 63, purchased a 2000 Road King new and traded it in last year for a new 2009 Street Glide. I have to say, the bike is absolutely fantastic. With the new frame, 96 in. engine, 6 speed and good sounds system you just can't go wrong. From all the bikes I've ridden, this one is by far the best. Harley ...

  • 2009 Sreet Glide
By  (I am an Owner) on Aug 26, 2010

All in all, this bike beats all expectations of the previous Street Glides. The 2009 has 450 changes. The handling , power , torque. One out of a 100 the shocks are bad. You get a thump, where it wants to bottom out and send your spine thru your neck ,or it does a bounce, which wants to throw you ...

Last year I rode my Dyna Lowrider from New Jersey to Lake George about 300 miles for Americade. It was a windy ride and I worked the whole way with no windshield. My buddy was riding his Ultra and looked as confortable as if he was sitting on hos couch in his living room. His tunes cranking he was ...

  • Perfect!
By  (I am an Owner) on Nov 15, 2009

Harley Davidson has come up with the perfect compromise between bagger and street bike. I went from a 2000 Road King to the 2009 Street Glide about 6 months ago, including Vance & Hines Monster Ovals and FuelPack. Since then .... 14,000 kms. Can't get enough of it. Highly recommended.

  • 2009 Street Glide Pewter Pearl
By  (I am an Owner) on Jul 20, 2009

I made the move from a Ducati ST3 Bagger to a 2009 Harley Davidson. The Street Glide does not have the handling or motor of the Ducati but considering the Harley is 400 lbs heavier it moves REALLY REALLY well for a bagger. The Harley is a true touring bike that you can actually use as fun bike too. ...

By  (I am an Owner) on Jul 09, 2009

I found the V-rod bad on highway in wind and looked long and hard to replace it. I am picking up a new 09 for $ 22,900 Cdn Tax in. I have a Vance and Hines 2 into 1 pro pipe ordered. Arlen ness big sucker air kit. Kloc Works shield for Highway trips. Like everybody else a set of Hog-tunes. I will ...

  • Love my Street Glide
By  (I am an Owner) on May 19, 2009

Went from a Deuce to the 2009 SG. I had to "reajust my riding style from the Deuce. Once you realize the extra weight, I could not be more happy. The SG is very nimble, even at slower speeds. Changed the 4" windshield to 6" before leaving dealer. Luggage rack, Passenger back rest and sundowner seat. ...

By  (I am an Owner) on Apr 28, 2009

I went from a Dyna Wideglide to a 2009 Street Glide, what a difference it makes, for someone with back problems. I was a little leary at first, but it has been a good move. The 09 is user friendly and good looking too with great handling,I think that I have to agree about the mini-shield, it was ...

  • Excellent Purchase
By  (I am an Owner) on Apr 09, 2009

Touring comfort and room with custom style. The combination is hard to beat. The handling is a lot more nimble than an 800+ pound bike should be. Love the stereo . Didn't know how much I would enjoy tunes on a bike until I bought this bike. The only negative I can think of is the helmet buffeting ...

  • 2009 Street Glide
By  (I am an Owner) on Mar 31, 2009

I'm writing a review on a bike that I recently purchased (Dec) but not riden yet. This is my 10th motorcycle over the last 25 years with the last 6 being Harley Davidson's. I live in Alaska and the roads aren't clear enough to ride yet. My last two were Road Kings.

    I cut my windshields ...

I think the reason why people are complaining about hearing that whine noise in 5th gear is because H D put a staright cut gear in 5th gear to help limit side loads on the transmission bearings? The other gears are cut differently, helical cut, thus the whine noise in 5th only? Maybe H D should choose a different gear?

I figure if it is still going down the road straight and nothing is leaking or breaking off don't sweat it. Come on guys! You know I wonder sometimes who the real bikers are and who are the wannabees! Love to All HG

I love to ride motorcycles, period. Everyone I spoke with said it was a great improvemnt over my 05 R K. I was going to upgrade my engine and paint the bike ($4000) I traded and got a new 09 Street Glide for $6000 more. And for that I got a new ride, new waranty, bigger engine and tranny, stereo and crusie control. And I know it was a gamble buying this new one without ever riding it but Harley Davidson hasn't let me down yet.

I have been riding for 45 years and my 09 Streetglide is my 6th new Harley so this is not my first rodeo. I went from an 06 Roadking which I thought was quite a nice bike to the SG. Nicest handling and riding bike I have ever been on. Plenty of power. I would however recommend the ABS. I left ...

By  (I am an Owner) on Nov 22, 2008

I've had a 2009 Street Glide for about a month now and love it. This is my first bagger. I had a 2008 Fat Boy and thought it handled pretty well. The brakes and handling of the '09 touring bikes are wonderful but H-D has made a lot of other improvements. I test rode the new Street Glide in Daytona ...

  • Everything I could want in upgrading from a V Rod
By  (I am an Owner) on Nov 14, 2008

Don't get me wrong the V Rod is a wonderful bike, but moving to a bagger was a scary step. Would it be nimble in the curves? would it have enough power compared to what I had? Well the answers for me are yes, yes and what V Rod. I can honestly say I have not looked back. The ride is comfortable, ...
