Wow
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 30, 2010I live in the UK and passed my mod 2 test in September 2010. I had been looking around for a long time for my first bike but nothing that I went to see really ignited my fire. I finally ventured into my local Harley dealership and started talking to the Sales Manager. Within the space of about an ... hour I felt that a Harley was what I wanted. I discussed a finance package with him at length and we finally agreed on one. I paid a small deposit then waited three long months to get my bike.
I took it out in December as soon as the snow disappeared. In fact the first day I rode it was my birthday which was excellent timing from my perspective.
...words cannot describe the thrill I get when I ride my bike!
...exhilarating raw power (and it is only an entry model) and comfort. It picks up speed VERY quickly and DOESN'T disappoint.
Only slight reservation is to do with the brakes which seem a little loose compared to the Suzuki thing I passed my test on, but this may just be the difference between sport bikes and cruisers so it's not a big deal. Nonetheless I could easily get my brakes tightened if I wished.
All in all the bike was well worth the wait and as a first bike I'd definitely recommend it if someone is looking to buy in to the Harley family because it represents the Harley brand well.
What does this mean for me in the future with regards cruisers? I am definitely hooked on Harley's because of this bike and will probably look to upgrade after a couple of years. For a first bike, I would most definitely recommend the Sporster Superlow.
