Cool Bike

Purchased an 09 XL1200 Nightster about a month ago. Upon first glance this model got my blood pumping on looks alone. The low seat and blacked out flat paint look is definitley my style. The no bling bare knuckle style is what I like and is what you get with this bike. People compliment me everywher...e while staring at her beauty. Now, performance; the bike does pretty well stock. It has a real crisp throttle response especially in the first 3 gears. The stock pipes are a little quiet for my taste but there are plenty of aftermarket options to choose from if you wish. The ride quality is acceptable, although with the lowered suspension and only 2.5 inches of travel or so your back will take a jolt over bumps at cruising speeds. The seat is not bad, after riding for about 400 miles straight my butt was definitely sore. The bike is very nimble and corners well, however the footpegs will drag if you lean into a corner hard and the pipes will drag if you lean in really hard. I probably drive harder than most HD owners and it hasnt been a big deal, keep in mind that this isnt a sport bike though. This bike would probably be best suited for a smaller person with the mid controls and lower height. I fit on it great but im only 5-7, forward foot controld are an option for taller people and would probably be a must for someone over 5-10. Love this Bike

This is by far the most fun I have ever had on a bike. Some people say the FWD controls would suit a taller rider. I am 6' 1" and love the mid controls. I added the 2 up seat so my wife can ride but the stock shocks are not good for this. I have the upgraded 2 up shocks on order I hope thi...s will solve the bottoming out. WOW! What a nice bike!

I just bought a 2009 Nightster in vivid black. This is the first bike I've ever owed or ridden for that matter. After an hour in a large parking lot I was out on the road. Despite the big V twin, the light weight makes it great for a novice rider and it seems plenty quick even accelerating from sp...eed when I foolishly took it out on a country highway to "ride it like I stole it!"

The only complaint is the low back end on crappy local streets makes for some bone rattle. Easily solved with 1.5" of rear height but forget it!

I saw this bike and immediately fell in love. Parked on street people walking by actually stop or turn around to look at it. I've already gotten 3 "Nice bike!!!" comment at lights in two days....

If you want a bike that looks like Steve McQueen or James Dean would ride this is the bike for you. Everyone here LOVES it and I'm in Kenosha, WI where Harleys are a dime a dozen and rice rockets get laughed off as kid toys... Read Full Review

I love my harley

This is a wonderful bike. If you're bothered by straight-line speed and acceleration, grow up, or go to a race track. Everything about this bike screams 'chill out', you just cruise along surrounded by the most blissful engine notes without a care in the world. I've been riding the thing through all... kinds of weather as a commuter machine in Britain, which I think speaks volumes about its reliability. You cant park it without someone complimenting your taste and with its handling around corners and across-the-board grunt, its just a pleasure to ride. Read Full Review

Before leaving for Iraq i walked into the dealership and was immediately impressed with the Nightster. It's dark character and old school looks had me hooked. When i returned state side my wife bought the bike as a gift. Almost everywhere i go it turns heads and i get compliments and questions about... it. If you plan on having a passenger i suggest changing the suspension though. The ride was a little rough for my wife. The Harley-Davidson Nightster rocks! Read Full Review
