883 custom vs 800 intruder

I purchased my harley sportster 883 custom last year, in may I traded in a 2003 suzuki intruder. The intruder has a faster motor and really fast on the take offs, and has shaft drive, it will leave a sportster in the dust on the straight away for a short while. But that is where it ends. The 883 c...ustom will out handle the intruder on any road, is more comfy and I can stretch my legs, has more torque and equals the intruders horsepower, gets better gas mileage, and has a bigger gas tank (3.2 vs 4.5 gal). My First Harley - 2008 883 Custom

New to the Harley-Davidson family this past year, the perfect choice for my first Harley was the 883 Custom. It has just the right amount of power and is a good size for me. It is a great bike for beginners like myself. A major factor for ownership for me was affordability, and the 883 custom was ve...ry reasonable. The ride is smooth, yet can get a bit shakey on windy days with no windsheild. The performance, quality, and reliability are excellent. Afterall it is a Harley-Davidson.

what a bike should look and feel like

I purchased a 2008 Sportster 883 Custom several months back. I have been very pleased with everthing about the bike. It looks like what a motorcycle should look like. Good balance between just enough chrome and really nice paint. No crazy looking humps, bumps, plastic, and gaps like the Japanese... bikes. I am 6'-1" tall so the forward controls work very well for me. The seat and riding position are very comfortable, which is a must for a 50+ year old guy like myself. I love the mellow sound. Not too loud or high pitched. The 883 cc's give you plenty of power. Only speed freaks, and guys with a size complex would need more. It is perfect for the way I ride and really looks sharp.
