Slightly Overpriced

Basic harley with a little extra room to strech out on, what it really needs to make it an all day rider is a better seat right out of the factory!

The seat feels like a 2x4 with leather over it, for the price Harley charges that seat should be far better.

Other than the seat and the price ther...e are no other complaints, the bike is reliable and feels very solid on the road.
It is a little cold at first, but the newer F.I. models should correct that problem Read Full Review

2005 XL883C

I am very happy with my Sporty, I purchased the bike with 11000km's and I am unsure if it had been looked at since the first service as I found out when I first serviced the bike.



I find it an absolute joy to ride, I have upgraded mufflers, air filter and rejetted the carb, it has increased the... performance of the bike however stocko was good.

It's a Harley, it's tough, it's quality and it's easy to fix on the run. It's not overly quick but it looks cool.

Can't beat the resale of a Harley, not that you'd want to sell it.

I love my sporty, I don't mind the seat either, mind you I am only 5'10 and 85kgs.

883 Sportster

I have a Screaming Eagle edition custom. It runs very well, though it "belches" now and then when it's cold. The sound of the Scream'n eagle pipes are sweet. The seat is marginal. The handlebars are barely adequate. In order to change the bars it could cost up to five hundred dollars for t...he labor involved in rewiring and making new brake and clutch cables. If you want comfort for long rides, this is not the bike for you. Leaning forward on the handlebars causes numbness and tingling in the hands after about 50 miles! I use it for short runs and it handles great!
Harley Davidsons are very good machines, but they are priced as though they are the best machine on earth, they are not. Save your money, buy used or metric, never buy a new Harley!

2005 Sporty 883

I've had many bikes and thought I'd try the new rubber mounted version Sporty (2004 on up). I still detect a significant amount of vibration and the seat is just barely adequate. I love the macho sound, the nice lines and handling. I believe Harley finally made a Sportster worth buying. However, thi...s bike is still not as smooth or refined as my 2008 Vulcan 900 which cost nearly the same. If you must have an American made bike, the Sportster is a good choice.
