  • Love my Streetrod
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 16, 2009

Bought my '06 as a leftover in May of 2007. Clocked 27,000 miles on it already. Added a chrome swingarm(off of Ebay), chrome side covers and regulator cover. Also added a flame horn cover. Bike runs great and handles real good. I do go through tires, especially the back. On my fifth rear and third ...

  • Street Rod Keep or Sell?
By  (I am an Owner) on Jun 22, 2009

I purchased the Street Rod over the winter. I am still on the fence if I intend on keeping it or not. It is enjoyable zipping around on in the city. But on the highway and long runs it sucks! I enjoy taking long rides and was looking forward to getting away to some motorcycle rallys. But not ...

I find the throttle controls to be rather hard on the hands. The positioning of the mirrors are useless.

I would like to see the one reviewers photos of his front end lower. My front end was lower. Not by me but the previous owner. I did not know that the front end was lower. While out riding one day I ran over a manhole cover that sunk 1 1/2 to 2 inches. This cause my front end to go down and the front fender bracket to snap right off! Luckily I was only doing 25 mph or less and the fender did not hit another vechile or get wedged under my bike. I have since corrected the front end. But now I am concerned if the previous owner did anything else that I should be aware of. So far I have put close to 2500 miles on it in 2 months. I will keep it till the end of the season and then make my decision.

slide the fork tubes up through the triple clamp and buy some shocks for a dyna sport . it will seem like a big drop but it works well with plenty of ground clearence no scrapes so far its like a 4 inch drop . makes the bike look like the destroyer!!!!!!

this will work trust me it ...

  • Turn heads, Super Cruiser.
By  (I am an Owner) on Jan 11, 2009

I bought this bike 1 year ago and it's super fun. People drools over this bike, park it next to any other bike and it will make them dissapear. Best bike I have ever owned. Super powerfull and fast. I've done 0-60 in 3.1 sec and 0-100 in 9 sec. check out www.youtube.com/omarstreetrod for a nice video ...

  • It is what it is...
By  (I am an Owner) on Nov 13, 2008

2006 VRSCR...I love it...on occasion I want a pure sport bike aka "rice burner" (blasphemy, I know). The bike is a pleasure to ride for the most part, my only complaints are the kinds of things that I never notice until I'm actually done with the "2-year grin" of new ownership (read: ergonomics). ...

My specific issues are how far back the bars position your arms, and the short mirror stems (although they are the longest ones Harley makes). Bottom line is, I have to physically move my head lower to see the speedometer (yes, I wear a full-face helmet) and must move my head to one side or another for a good view of what is behind me (my rides were so short when I purchased the bike in Hawaii that I never noticed these issues).

I'm lately looking at modifying to the extent of sport-bike style bars fitted directly over the forks and possibly having a custom fairing manufactured (among other things, this would give alternate mounting points for mirrors and instrument cluster which are afterthoughts in the original design as far as I'm concerned).

Sans those ergonomics...there is nothing I can complain about...the bike is "fast enough," I know some folks believe that's never a true statement but for me...I've been to 150+ and that was plenty...it may not have the acceleration of a crotch rocket, but if you go too fast, the stock seat doesn't provide enough support in the rear to keep you on the bike (I literally almost slid off the bike a few times).

One of the things I like about the bike that receives a little bit of hate about is the rake angle. I suppose a steeper angle would provide me with more maneuverability, but the long wheelbase has provided me with nothing but stability on my morning commute (30+ miles each way daily)...it is generally a comfortable ride...though a fairing would be nice on windy, rainy days.

I could say more, but you get the idea...you can only buy this bike used anymore, and that's all the better I guess...probably more incentive for me to keep it.

This bike rides and handles great. It is a little heavy, but its a Harley. This is my first Harley and I love it. I am coming off of sport bikes and this is a great transition. The seat is a little uncomfortable after a couple of hours but just add some gel and all is fine. If using for longer trips ...

  • Just Right
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 25, 2008

V rod at first was too much of a cruiser with forward controls. Street rod was too tall. The Night Rod was perfect mid controls low seat. This is like no other bike I have ridden it is happy going slow or going fast. The best breaks in the business helps slow it down. Turns on a dime. On the twisties ...

  • 06 VRSCR Street Rod
By  (I am an Owner) on Sep 16, 2008

1st bike - plenty of power, weight is more than I want to deal with, low rpm engine performance is rough, particulary when the engine is cold. The brakes are strong, with the front biting harder/quicker than expected. Catches me off guard sometimes. The seat is tolerable for about 1 hour, then ...

Most HD's has a factory stock set that will make you customized the bike. As a matter of fact you will be chaging almost every part on them. I the case of the Street Rod. Besides the mufflers and the uncomfortable factory seat, she is great. FYI: Now is a collectors item!
