You've come a LONG way, baby!
By (I am an Owner) on Feb 07, 2015In 1974 I fulfilled a life-long dream - I bought a brand new SuperGlide. What a piece of schmidt that thing was! I left it with the keys in it in front of biker bars for days - no takers... I finally managed to be rid of the damn thing, took the insurance money and bought a z-1 Kaw, which I rode ... for over 30 years.
In the late autumn of 2013 I was perusing Craigslist when, low and behold, I spied a 2007 Superglide with less than 9,000 miles on it, for $6,000! I never thought to ride the thing - just to store it until spring, and make some bucks.
Well, that's not the way it turned out :) Now it's my trusty Honda ST1300A that will be up for sale, come spring.
I rode the bike before I bought it, just to be sure it was OK. I found myself liking it, and not believing that I liked it, both at the same time.
It turned 9,000 miles on my 75 mile ride home. When I got home I definitely was into more "research" and, of course, stunned and amazed that I actually enjoyed riding a harley.
This bike is air cooled. No more sizzling legs when the thermostat opens at a red light! This bike is naked. No more 2-3 hour ordeals with removing/replacing the !@#$%^&*(!! plastic CRAP before the engine can be seen, let alone worked on.
This bike is primordial. I had forgotten what a motorcycle is (or was) among the technology and the hype. Suddenly, I remembered same. It's return was a joy, just as if I was young, once more.
This bike is slow - dead slow. Ah, but the v-twin exhaust note and the retrograde ambiance of the 'glide make me feel as if I an going fast, and isn't that what it's all about - the sensation of pleasure, while riding?
People in cars are always grinning at me - giving me the thumbs up - lol - I have become a hit with Joe Sixpack, though we are not related. I may never understand why arriving on a harley makes you a great guy, before you even say anything.
This bike is like a solid block of steel, as she travels - the equal, at the very least, of any Jap bike I have ridden, in terms of handling.
And a whole lot more FUN!

07 FXD Super Glide
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 21, 2010Bought a used 2007 FXD Super Glide with 4,823 km in March of 2010. It is the first Harley I have ever owned. This bike gets even better milage on the highway than HD said it would. So far I have been down the east coast of the USA and out to the west coast of Canada and back through Sturgis, SD ... this summer. Current milage is 26,389 km and I still have two out of town toy rides to do. Maintanance is so simple on this bike. Should have bought one years ago.

Sweet Ride
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 03, 2008Give up the sportster and step up to the fxdc. I did and mam oh man what a ride. my 2007 is a dream. 1800 miles in three days feels like I have even left yet. Plenty of muscel and lots of chrome.
I get many complements
