Demo Ride Ocean City H-D

I am 6'1" @ 230lbs. It's hard for me to find a sport bike that fits. Ever since Suzuki's TL 1000R. After removing my chaps, this bike was actually comfortable. Seat is not for touring but neither is the bike. 100 miles and stretch your legs. But 100 miles of 1125R riding, you may want to catch ...your breath as anyway.
I found that if you leave from a stop like a normal HD, (Big Twin) you'll probably stall as I did. You'll only do this once. A tad more throttle (just a tad), and you'll be fine. A bit more and you start to feel what this bike can do. Amazing power anytime, enough to controllably lift the front with ease or power slide out of any turn or both!
Speaking of turns, like on rails! The bike plants or adjusts as you see fit. Excellent feel. I would loved to have had some track time with it. All I had was some real life exit and on ramps.
I was skeptical of the brakes, I had never ridden a bike with a configuration as such. My first stop caught me by surprise when I grabbed a handful. To describe it, the 1125R has 2-finger, brick wall brakes with no tendency to pull to one side as I thought it would. It just stopped!

Now for cool points. The reputation is that Buell has not been able to keep up with our friends from across the water, (Sorry Eric). That only die hard enthusiast would even ride them let alone own one. No matter who you were though, that Buell (and Duc) sounded cool. Well, move over, (or go faster) Ducati, here comes the good ole USofA. A throaty growl that backs it up enough to catch even your 1098.

Let's see if Max (Biaggi) will ride each and give us his opinion from the track.

All in all, sport bike riders will show some respect to Eric and HD/Buell, a well earned respect. The performance, combined with a suggested retail of under $12K, makes this potential 'super-bike" well worth looking into. Read Full Review

Nothing like it

Since I purchased this power house, I have all the recalls and updates performed and it is the smoothest bike I have owned. The seat had to go, by switching to the XB seat, the comfort level is great, throw on a cramp buster for the throttle and a 200+ mile trip is a breeze. I still enjoy my M2 for ...2 up riding, but when i feel the need for fast and fun, the 1125R is tops. Pulling 42 mpg combined is great also. Read Full Review

Comperable to euro imports

I tell you what, at first I was a little skeptical, but after owning this bike for a few months now, I have no regrets, I have ridden sport bikes for years, and this thing is amazing. Although a little squirrelly at first, getting used to the V-twin torque is something you will conquer in a few wee...ks, also you'll notice this bike likes to drop into the corners like it was never supposed to go straight.. I have never owned such a nimble and powerful bike. Yes it's not the most comfortable but I can go for a couple hours without a break, the pegs are high the weight is low, and the power will make you gitty for weeks.. just make sure you respect this monster, if you don't get friendly with it, it might bite you.. it's the faasheeeezy! Friend or Foe

If you want speed and power on a predictable base it is a great bike. The ride really isn't that bad but you have to stop every 15 or 20 miles and take a break even if you dont want to. The main problem I have is actually the seat and the valve chatter from the engine. Read Full Review

2008 1125R Rocks

The Buell 1125R, designed from the rider down, according to Buell, is comfortable and easy to maneuver, but riding the bike and viewing its performance on the racing circuit, indicates it is just as much a thoroughbred as a daily driver. It is significant in its ability to tame the streets, roll ont...o the track in street trim, and compete. It is light, powerful, and responsive.
