Comfortable in wind & Rain
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 18, 2013fI have put 135,000 miles on my 04 RT. It has been ridden in all kinds of weather with very few problems. I have done my own maintenance and I'm no expert. It is smooth, the trans is clunky but shifts solidly. the clutch is bulletproof. The fairing makes it pleasant to ride even in the rain. ... Only prblem is the fairing is too good. On hot days in traffic you don't get much breeze, even with the windshield fully lowered. I rode it today with temps between 28 and 33 degrees. Not too bad with a heated vest and grips. The few problems were things I caused to happen, like not changing tranny fluid for the first 85,000 miles. I like mine and I recommend the 1150 RT.

All around great bike!
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 02, 2009This bike is fast, but not a rocket. It handles almost like a sport bike. It's comfortable and luxurious, but not as much as a BMW LT or a Goldwing. It's pretty, but not as pretty as most Harleys or a Roadstar. But it does everything very well. You can ride it all day without feeling too sore. ... You can ride in the heat, cold, or in-between. It's fun, but sensible. Just right in the sweet spot on all fronts. My main objection is that it starts hard in cold weather. But it always starts eventually. The movable windshield, heated grips, luggage, glove compartment, big gas tank, comfortable seating position, easy to read dials and gauges -- they thought of everything! There's nothing over-the-top exciting, but everything's very very good.
