Disgraceful piece of machinery

I, plus one other reviewer on a different website, think that this bike is a potential deathtrap. I've only had it for 5-6 months and it stalls while you are riding it, which is really dangerous. Good first bike

Unlike previous reviewer; have had no problems, and customer service here in Adelaide by Bill's Motorcycles has been great. Have been riding this bike now for around 3 months. The bike is excellent for a first timer, simple and fun to ride. Done just over 1300km's. It has been reliable without fault...

Bike is my daily commute to work, doing around 40km's a day including climbing Flagstaff Hill which is a very steep incline. On the steepest part it is able to maintain 60kmh. Gets to 80kmh quite easily now it has been run in, and I have taken mine up to almost 100 kmh. Not sure if I would want to take it any faster than that anyway.

Achieving around 3.6L/100km when riding like grandma, and around 4.0L/100km when really giving it some juice. With me at 110kg's I figure the bike is doing pretty good. Probably for the difference in running costs might as well "ride it like I stole it" as the the techician at the bike shop said.

Purchased new for around $3300 on road. Quite happy for the money. Let's face it- it's an Aprilia, but it's not a superbike...

Interesting to see that Piaggio (who own Aprillia ) have released a bike almost identical apart for some aesthetic changes. In my view the Aprilia is the prettier of the two. Here in Adelaide the two are within a few dollars of each other. Read Full Review

TERRIBLE SCOOTER

Bought my Aprilia about 5-6 months ago. Have basically had nothing but problems with it. It stalls while I'm riding it, which is very scary if you're on the freeway with a large truck behind you. It stalls at 20 km/h or 80 km/h. I have blown 15-20 fuses in the last 3 months. Glove box latch is dodgy.... Buy this bike at your peril. Read Full Review

2012 model...

I just bought a new sportcity 125 here in china. one of my chinese friends recommended it to me (more on that later), as I was needing a new scooter after my two year old 150cc qing qi scooter started to disintegrate right, left, and center.



im not sure if this model is being sold outside china.... its batch date is 14th January 2012.

as I said before my friend had one of these bikes, a 2010 edition, which among other things has a faulty fuel gage, off-center frame, and has, even to this day, stalling issues from the get go.

my friend told me that all these issues had been taken care of for this new edition, and I must say, albeit early days, three to be exact, this is indeed the case. fuel gage works as it should, and there's no stalling...so far so good.

the only point of issue I have with this bike is when after you start to decelerate, the bike slows down quite rapidly...so much so it's as though I am breaking suddenly, but im not. I read somewhere this is called running lean...not very up on mechanical phrases. however I have started to realise this is just my bikes way of saving the breaks...so no coasting :0 (

the engine is also at a higher tone than my old 150cc, and the floor vibrations are more noticable, but it is by far a much better ride, and those 14" tyres, and side mirrors are fantastic.
