Performance!!
By (I am an Owner) on Sep 01, 2010Ive owned many scooters since my 1984 Yamaha xc180 and I must say, this machine is amazing. I can't say enough about it. You will never question your purchase if you buy one. I'll never buy a Honda or Yama again. Italian racing all the way baby!

2010 Scarabeo 200 ie
By (I am an Owner) on Aug 19, 2010The Scarabeo is my first scooter and my first motorcycle in a long time. I wanted something completely reliable, easy to use, a good (re)learner bike, and good for the city. The Scarabeo does all of that in a strong overall package. Do I wonder if I should have bought a Honda? Maybe, but it was ... pricier and the dealer didn't have the service department, something that gave me a little more confidence with the Scarabeo here in Greece. After 750 km, though, my problems are (limited to): 1) the under seat helmet storage is too small for my wife's open helmet (standard size) let alone my full face; 2) there is persistent shuddering at low speed before increasing revs (going to service for this one). But we took it out of the city and it maintained 100 km per hour steadily for 45 minutes each way and with little movement even as trucks passed us. Overall: Good, maybe even very good and if that rev/shudder problem goes away, then very good indeed.

One impressive, classy machine!
By (I am an Owner) on Apr 12, 2010STYLE - This scoot has style to spare! Distinctive Italian styling with subtle chrome accents. It looks like it rolled out from the streets of Milan (versus being beamed down from the mother ship).
PERFORMANCE - The big wheels of the Scarabeo really grip the road and the suspension ... which is adjustable can be softened or hardened based on road conditions. The 200cc motor has power to spare. The scoot has good weight; its heavy and sits solidly on the road in gusty weather. It's also of a big enough size that you don't feel dwarfed on the road by cars and trucks.
VALUE - This scoot, like most Aprilia models, is a fantastic value. Where I live this scoot costs less than the Honda 150SHOi and is half the price of comparable sized Vespa's!
If you are looking for a classy, high performance scoot you absolutely have to consider the Scarabeo 200; it is the best bang for the buck hands down!

My first motor/scooter
By (I am an Owner) on Dec 08, 2009Hi,
I bought my Scarabeo 200 with 0 km. This is my first bike. I used it mainly in Budapest (capital of Hungary) in heavy traffic. It is slim enough to pass cars between two lanes, or fast enough to reach the city center through the motorway. It can go 130 km/h and it is strong and ... fast enough to avoid tricky situations when you have to immediately leave. The big wheels are safe if there is a dent on the road. sometimes I use it to do some limited shopping in the grocery. this is also a good choice if you need to wear sometimes suit but you need to have something against daily traffic.
