how to find excitement after 28 of driving cars
By (I am an Owner) on May 09, 2012Call it a mid-life crisis, call it annoyance at paying $4 a gallon, or just plain needing a change.
As i only work 5 miles from home a car was an expensive luxury that really was not worth it so a friend had a 2007 SR 50 factory and suggested i buy it.
within minutes a smile ... returned to my face and i realized that adrenaline could be found in a small package.
The bike is so stable even on the most uneven roads, very nippy with 35 coming swiftly. I had it to 48 before the restrictor cut in and i had to back it down.
the instrument panel is clear and concise with lap counter, trip meter (2) and battery level. The display is a mix of liquid crystal and traditional gauges all easily visible day or night
The bodywork is striking and well put together with plenty of storage space under the seat as well as a small pocket in the front.
Lighting is very good with twin always on headlights and a full beam, full directional indicators provide plenty of warning for other road users.
Comfort: very comfortable for the 30 mins it takes to pootle around town avoiding the main highways.
the fuel injected engine is very frugal and will run happily at 8k revs pretty much all the time, and i am sure the fuel gauge is busted as it has not moved.
All in all a great buy for the money, you can be frugal and stylish at the same time
