By (I am an Owner) on May 30, 2013The 2013 Harley Davidson VROD Muscle performs as well as good as it looks. I decided on black because personally I don't think any other color looks right on this model but that, of course, is up to you. The bike sits comfortably low and a recent adjustment by Harley has shortened the reach ... of the handlebars making about as close to perfect as they're ever going to get. When you first fire the bike up you instantly feel the weight and power under you. Twist the throttle and you'll hear what I think is a low throaty yet classy rumble. You will notice that this Harley does not vibrate like any of the other Harley models and I have to believe this is due, in part, to the Porsche engineering. Very smooth, very tight. Stepping down on the gear selector, shift into first, twist the throttle and the VROD responds instantly with a ton of torque and smooth acceleration. Within seconds this bike is effortlessly ripping down the road at eighty miles per. It might catch you off guard so you need to respect the amount of horsepower your controlling. Every gear, first through fifth has a very wide power band, so much so, that there doesn't seem to be an area of weakness no matter what the rpms are running at. Unfortunately I am not mechanically inclined so I cannot share that aspect of the bike with you but I do recognize performance and refinement and the VROD offers both in abundance. If you're looking for a heavy bike, a respected name, a breathtakingly sexy look, speed, control and dependability, do yourself a favor and visit your local Harley dealer and check out the latest and greatest in their lineup. You won't be sorry.
