Yamaha reveals 2009 dirt bikes
The 2009 YZ250F has been given upgrades that Yamaha says will improve power delivery and response off the bottom and midrange. The new exhaust has a 60mm longer titanium header and a 50mm shorter aluminum silencer while the carburetor jetting and CDI ignition mapping settings have been reworked.
A new, lighter swingarm and lightweight suspension linkage have been added to provide improved balance and traction, and the rear wheel hub is lighter while designed for a larger 25mm diameter axle.
The 2009 YZ250F will be available for $6,549 in Team Yamaha blue and white or for $6,649 with a white and red color scheme.
The 2009 YZ450F will have the same changes to its swingarm and rear wheel as its 250cc sibling, as well as a reworked clutch lever assembly, a new seat cover, lighter front brake hose clamp and gold-colored drive chain.
The updated version of the AMA Supercross championship-winning YZ450F will retail for $7,399 in Team Yamaha blue and white, and will also have a white and red option for an additional $100.
The two-stroke YZ250 and YZ125 have also received new front brake hose clamps, seat covers and gold-colored drive chains. Both bikes will inherit D742FA Dunlop front tires from the YZ450F. The 2009 YZ85 will also return, but the biggest change is to the graphics.
The 2009 YZ250 will go for $6,599, and the YZ125 for $5,799, while the YZ85 will be available for $3,349.
