Yamaha Returning to Isle of Man TT

Record setting racer Ian Hutchinson to ride full works R1

Yamaha will enter a factory-supported team in the 2011 Isle of Man TT.

The Japanese manufacturer will mark the 50th anniversary of its debut at this years Isle of Man TT, but it will be Yamaha s first full factory effort since 1973. Yamaha will back Shaun Muir Racing to compete as the Swan Yamaha team.

Yamaha will make its return to the Isle of Man TT with Ian Hutchinson, the star of the 2010 TT. Racing for Honda, Hutchinson became the first racer to win five TT races in a single event, winning the Senior TT, Superstock and two Supersport races.

Hutchinson will ride a full works spec YZF-R1 in the Superbike class. Shaun Muir Racing will supply an R1 for the Superstock class and an R6 for the Supersport class.

Ian Hutchinson has eight career Isle of Man TT race wins including a record five wins in a single week.
