Over the first nine months of 2010, Yamaha reported 987.4 billion yen (US$12.1 billion) in net sales, up from 858.5 billion yen (US$10.6 billion) over the same nine months of 2009.
Motorcycle sales totaled 5.1 million units worldwide, an increase from 4.2 million in 2009, thanks mostly to 4.5 million units sold in Asia.
North American sales however are down over 50% over the first nine months, with 40,000 units sold compared to 81,000 units in 2009.

For the year, Yamaha forecasts sales of 6.8 million units, up from 5.8 units sold in 2009. North American sales are expected to total 54,000 units, a 41% decrease from the 92,000 units sold in 2009.
