WSBK: Kyalami test day two results
Fabrizios shaved a second off his best time from day one by clocking a time of 1:40.256 on day two at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.
Im not entirely satisfied today either because I made a small mistake on my good lap, otherwise Im convinced I could have got below the 1:40 mark says Fabrizio. I hadnt seen this track before of course and I really like it. Its fun to ride. We havent yet tried any qualifiers and I think I may be able to go a touch faster with those tires but well see tomorrow, with this heat its hard to go extremely fast. Id like to improve even further tomorrow, Ill see what I can do.
The second day of testing did not go as well for 2008 AMA Superbike Champion Ben Spies. The Yamaha Motor Italia riders day was cut short after a crashed on his 39th lap. Spies was unhurt in the crash but his YZF-R1 was severely damaged. Spies still managed to cut half a second off his day one time with a time of 1:41.049.
The Hannspree Ten Kate Honda duo of Carlos Checa and Jonathan Rea also crashed on day two.
Testing continues Dec. 12 in Kyalami.
