Polaris Industries reported a 116% increase in sales from its Victory Motorcycles division over the third quarter of 2010.

According to Polaris’ third quarter report, its on-road division, which consists almost entirely of Victory Motorcycles, produced $20.1 million in sales, more than double the $9.3 million in sales from the same quarter in 2009.

Unit sales in North America increased by over 50% in the third quarter despite a weak market for heavyweight cruisers and touring motorcycles. Sales outside North America were even stronger, with Polaris reporting an increase over 100% compared to the same quarter in 2009. Demand was high across Victory’s entire line-up, with the Cross Country and Cross Roads performing well in particular.

Demand for models such as the Cross Country helped Victory sales more than double in the third quarter compared to 2009.
