Vespa wants you to Get Smart

10 scooters offered in Subway restaurant contest
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, May. 22, 2008
The iconic scooter brand Vespa is doing its part in the fight against the agents of KAOS.

Vespa will run a promotion with Subway restaurants to support the upcoming movie remake of the 60s television series Get Smart. A silver Vespa LX 150 scooter appears in the film starring Steve Carell, as agent Maxwell Smart, and Anne Hathaway, as his partner Agent 99, as spies battling the evil forces of KAOS.

Subway will run an instant-win contest for prizes including 10 Vespa scooters. Contest participants can also access a website to print out a voucher for a free Vespa Soft-Touch helmet or a Piaggio Copter helmet with the purchase of a new Vespa scooter.

As well, consumers over the age of 18 can receive a $5 Subway card with a test drive or product demonstration at a Vespa dealer.

The Vespa brand is synonymous with smart, spirited transportation, says Paolo Timoni, president and CEO of Piaggio Group Americas, Inc which manufactures Vespa scooters. Vespa riders already know that scooters are a fresh way to tackle todays fuel and congestion issues, and were pleased that this promotion gives us the opportunity to help even more consumers uncover the facts about Vespanomics

The promotion will run from June 2 to Aug. 10 at all Vespa dealerships and at 21,500 Subway locations in the US. Get Smart opens in theaters on June 20.
