SPEED extends MotoGP broadcast deal

Race coverage available in high-definition for the first time
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Apr. 09, 2010
SPEED has signed a three-year agreement with Dorna Sports for the broadcast rights to the MotoGP World Championship.

As previously announced, MotoGP races will now be aired in high-definition. At least 12 of the 18 races will also be broadcast live, including the April 11 season opener in Qatar. SPEED will also supplement the international feed with its own content.

In addition to the international feed shared by all partners, SPEED will produce SPEED-specific features, interviews and graphic enhancements, says Rick Miner, SPEED senior vice president of production and network operations. We are really stepping up the presentation for the American audience.

Play-by-play will be handled by Nick Harris over the international feed. Ian Wheeler will provide analysis and Gavin Emmett will report from the pits. Greg Creamer will host SPEEDs in-studio segments.
