SPEED announces SPEED2 network

Broadband network to air FIM, TTXGP racing
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, May. 11, 2010
Speed is launching a new broadband network that will air more motorcycle and automotive racing series.

Set to launch over the summer, Speed2 will be available to Speed subscribers as an authenticated online network. A beta version is scheduled to debut in June while a wider release will be available in July.

SPEED2 will be at the cutting edge of new media programming, says Mike Biard, executive vice president of Fox Networks affiliate sales and marketing. Our distributors have been seeking more online content to complement their video offerings, and this network will deliver what drives viewership exclusive live events and dramatic action all in an authenticated online environment.

Speed2 will supplement Speed TV and air racing series such as the FIM Supermoto World Championship.

Speed2 will offer live and video-on-demand content with a focus on international racing. Speed2s initial list of racing properties includes the FIMs Motocross, Supermoto and Enduro World Championships as well as the TTXGP electric racing series.

We are delighted to be partnering with Speed to deliver TTXGP eGrandPrix race coverage to the growing number of electric motorcycle racing fans in the US, says Jeremy Burne, TTXGP U.S. director. TTXGP is an innovative new racing series and Speed is a natural choice for TTXGP to bring our unique brand of racing technology to a broader audience.

Automotive racing properties on Speed2 include the FIA GT1 and GT3, German Touring Car (DTM), World Touring Car Championship, International Rally, British Touring Car Championship, Nurburgring 24, Formula 2, F3 Euroseries and the VW Scirocco Cup series.
