Schwantz to ride demo laps at Indy
Schwantz will be reunited with the Lucky Strike Suzuki RGV500 he rode to win the 1993 World Championship. The Houston, Texas resident will ride the restored bike at 2:15 p.m., ahead of the MotoGP race. Schwantz says it will be the first time he has ridden that motorcycle since 1995.
We fired it up one weekend, I think, late in the year in 95, Schwantz said. Im looking forward to it. Ive sat on it a couple of times. Weve got some new Michelin tires for it. I'm not going to try and throw down a qualifying lap, thats for sure, but I'm really looking forward to riding that thing here at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Hearing that V4 two-stroke (engine) running around out here is going to be special.
Schwantz has 25 Grand Prix wins to his name, with four in the 1993 championship season.
