Riders for Health to attend NEC show

Official charity of MotoGP World Championship
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Nov. 25, 2008
The last big fund-raising event on the 2008 Riders for Health calendar is just around the corner, at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC in Birmingham, England.

From Nov. 28 to Dec. 7, the Riders for Health events team will be at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC in Birmingham, raising more money for the Official Charity of the MotoGP World Championship.

The NEC show marks the end of another year for the charity with more than £320,000 (US$496,700) already raised. Funds raised will help provide health-care to rural African villages. The 20th anniversary of the Riders for Health first project was celebrated in October.

The forthcoming show at the exhibition and conference centre in Englands West Midlands region will feature two Riders auctions, the first being held on the Preview Day on Friday Nov. 28 at 1:30pm. Items up for bid at the auction include an off-roading holiday to South Africa. A second auction will be held in collaboration with helmet manufacturer, Arai, and will take place on Saturday Dec. 6.

More information about Riders for Health at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show will be provided on the charitys official website, http://www.riders.org/.
