Fuel mapping may cause engine to stall
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Jan. 14, 2011
Ducati issued a recall for the Multistrada 1200S due to a problem with the fuel injection system.

According to documents submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the 2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200S engine may stall during downshifting or maneuvering with the clutch disengaged at idle. The issue was discovered during quality control analysis of customer feedback.

Ducati determined the problem was caused by the fuel mapping in the electronic control unit. Authorized Ducati dealers will re-flash the ECU with a corrected fuel map.

The 2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200S may stall when downshifting or maneuvering with the clutch disengaged at idle.

The recall affects an estimated 1,196 units. Only the 1200S is included in the recall; the base Multistrada 1200 is not included in the recall campaign.
