Rapp signs with BlackHole Racing

Former Daytona 200 winner to ride Aprilia RSV1000R
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Feb. 05, 2009
Steve Rapp has signed on to ride for BlackHole Racing in the 2009 AMA Daytona Sportbike class.

The 2007 Daytona 200 winner will join Scott Jensen on the BlackHole Racing team riding the Aprilia RSV1000R.

We are very excited to have the Steve and Scott on our team, says Brett Ray, co-owner of BlackHole Racing. With their talent, it wont take long for both guys to get up to speed on the new bikes, and we look forward to an exciting season beginning in Daytona.

Steve Rapp was left on the outside looking in after Kawasaki merged its teams. Rapp will face his old team at the Daytona 200.
Rapp raced for the Attack Kawasaki team in 2008, finishing third in the Formula Xtreme series and 19th in the Supersport class.

Kawasaki Motors Corp. recently decided to merge its factory team with the Attack team and announced Feb. 3 that the new squad would consist of former factory team riders Jamie Hacking and Roger Hayden, making Rapp available to sign with BlackHole Racing.

Rapps former Attack Kawasaki teammate also signed to ride a RSV1000R for the factory Aprilia team. Both riders will have the chance to show up their former team at the Daytona 200.
