Race fans win Yamaha bikes

Canadian contest to return for 2008 season
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Mar. 20, 2008
Two Canadian racing fans have won Yamaha TTR-50 off-road motorcycles, courtesy of Team Toyota Yamaha.

Rick Berry of Nanaimo, BC, and Ashley ONeill of Orleans, Ont., were selected from thousands of entrants who attended Canadian Superbike Series and Canadian Motocross Championship events last summer. They filled out entries at the Toyota Truck displays at race events across Canada.

Were extremely satisfied with this contest because its the true fan that benefits directly from the results, says Tim Kennedy, national marketing manager for Yamaha Motor Canada. Toyota and Yamaha support the sport and this was a good way for us to show our commitment and give back to the fans of each series. We wish Rick and Ashley the best with their new TTR-50 Yamahas.

Berry won the Jean Sebastion-Roy #2 bike and ONeill will receive the Kevin Lacombe #34 bike.

This prize giveaway is one of many exciting highlights weve had in our third season with Yamaha, says Linas Balaisis, national manager for Toyota Canada. Teaming up with Yamaha has been a natural fit for Toyotain addition to motorcycles, trucks are an important part of this sport.

The contest will return for the 2008 Canadian Superbike and Motocross seasons and fans will once again have a chance to win a new Yamaha TTR-50.
