Provisional 2010 WSBK schedule released

Utah round set for Memorial Day Monday

The International Motorcycling Federation has released a provisional calendar for the 2010 World Superbike season.

The provisional calendar has 13 rounds, down from the 14 rounds in the 2009 calendar with the Losail round in Doha, Qatar dropping from the schedule. The 2010 season is tentatively scheduled to open Feb. 28 in Phillip Island, Australia and end Oct. 3 at Magny-Cours in France. .

Portimao, the site of the 2009 season-ending round Oct 25, has been moved to March 28 to take Losails place as second on the schedule.

The seventh round at Utahs Miller Motorsports Park is listed for May 31, 2010, the only Monday on the schedule, though its not clear whether the date is a typo or intentionally chosen to be on Memorial Day.

The April 11, 2010 round in Valencia, Spain is marked to be confirmed as is the Sept. 26 round in Imola, Italy which is also marked as being subject to homologation.
