Button founded Road 2 Recovery in the fall of 2000 with Bob Moore and Bob Walker. In January of that year, Button flipped over the handle bars of his bike on a whoop section of the San Diego round of the Supercross series. Button broke his neck in the crash and suffered temporary paralysis. After months of rehabilitation, Button regained the ability to walk and move and now works to help other riders who suffer serious injury.
