Gary Pietruszewski, formerly the head of the company’s sales and dealer development group, will assume responsibility for the marketing of all of Piaggio’s products in the United States. Pietruszewski will be involved in advertising, brand management and promotional events.
Pietruszewski’s appointment comes at a time when the popularity of scooters is on the rise as consumers consider fuel efficient transportation alternatives. As well, Pietruszewski will play an important role as Piaggio continues to build the strength of its Aprilia and Moto Guzzi brands.
According to Piaggio, Pietruszewski’s tenure as head of sales and dealer development saw the company expand its dealer network to over 400 retail locations while unit sales and market share increased from year to year.
Before joining Piaggio, Pietruszewski spent over 15 years in the automotive and transportation industry, working on sales and marketing programs for Bentley Motor Cars, Bombardier and Subaru.
