Philanthropic Road Show Fights Cancer

A couple of cross-country trips later, Augustyn decided to combine his love of motorcycle riding and his passion for golf to raise money for cancer related causes. The end result was Two Wheel Driver, a philanthropic road show dedicated to DeMartino and anyone else dealing with cancer.

Augustyn and his three-man crew will ride from city to city, stopping to host charity golf tournaments to raise funds for local cancer treatment centers. The events, along with the journeys in between, will be filmed for future broadcast.

Two Wheel Drivers debut trip will take the crew from its base in Atlanta to the Red Bull Indianapolis GP for the return of motorcycle racing to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Sept. 12-14.

Sponsor KTM will welcome Augustyn and his group to the companys Ride Experience exhibit at Indy. Two Wheel Driver will also participate in a golf outing at the Brickyard Crossing Golf course, located on the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

I could never have imagined a more perfect backdrop for the debut of the project than being part of the return of motorcycle racing to a world famous racetrack, which even has its own golf course!

KTM North America has strong ties to cancer-related causes. The companys former president, and six-time International Six Days Enduro medalist Rod Bush, passed away in 2005 from the illness.

Two Wheel Drivers combination of motorcycling and golf to battle cancer demonstrates how two of the most popular participatory sports in America can affect peoples lives positively, says Jeff Salamon, director of marketing for KTM North America. Like many, cancer has closely affected our company and is a cause that we are very willing to support.

KTM has also invited the Two Wheel Driver crew to the companys dealer meetings in Salt Lake City, Utah, in August where they will receive two new KTM motorcycles for use on their journeys.
