1982 Honda CB450T-Hawk Oil Question

Hello,
I have a 1982 Honda CB450T-Hawk. I need to change the oil in it and am wondering if it would be OK to put any of the latest brand synthetic oil in it. I am a bit concerned because I switched to Mobil-1 synthetic in my car at 70K miles and its engine started leaking from some seals. Does any one have any experience with swithing to synthetic oil on such a old motorcycle. Also, could you tell me the proper way to do a oil change myself.
