Tire Life Expectancy

I was just wondering what the average tire life expectancy was on sport bikes. I'm looking at a 2000 Yamaha R1 in particular. It wouldn't be street racing or track day riding. Just normal everyday riding. Of course, a little bit of speed and twisty mountain roads thrown in every now and again.
