Oil My Gawd!

I have an 2006 Kawasaki ZZR600 and have done my third oil change since I bought it last year. During this oil change, I was adding some exterior LED lights for show (which are wired into the fuse box sharing the turn signals fuse.) When all done and fired up the bike, the oil light will not go off...stays illuminated and I can 'hear' the difference in the sound of the bike at idle...as if there is no oil pumping. Not sure of any checks I can do, before having to shell-out money to get the dealer to check it out.
