A new television series about an outlaw motorcycle club will debut this fall on the FX network.

Sons of Anarchy, starring Charlie Hunnan, Katey Sagal and Ron Perlman, debuts Sept. 3 on the network behind Emmy-nominated shows such as The Shield and Rescue Me.

The series, which FX describes as “an adrenalized drama with darkly comedic undertones” follows an outlaw motorcycle club in the fictional town of Charming, in northern California. The Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Original Redwood Charter (SAMCRO) is intent on protecting Charming from drug dealers, large corporations and overzealous law enforcement officers while thriving on an illegal arms trade.

Sons of Anarchy, starring Charlie Hunnan, debuts Sept. 3 on FX.
Hunnam plays Jackson “Jax” Teller, the vice president of SAMCRO who becomes concerned with the club’s growing lawlessness. Sagal plays Teller’s mother, Gemma Teller Morrow, while Perlman plays his stepfather and president of SAMCRO, Clarence “Clay” Morrow.

Signed for a 13-episode run, Sons of Anarchy is produced by Kurt Sutter, a writer and executive producer for The Shield which enters its final season this fall. Sons of Anarchy is slated to air Wednesdays at 10 pm EST.
