MotoGP 08 coming to a console near you

Racing game to be released in October

Let’s face it, you’re never going to straddle a bike and do battle with the likes of Casey Stoner and Valentino Rossi at Laguna Seca. You can, however, test yourself against them in the comfort of your own home when MotoGP 08 is released in October. You won’t even risk any bodily harm if you fall off your bike at 200 miles an hour, unless, of course, you strain your thumb on the controller.

Capcom’s MotoGP 08 is the official game of the 2008 Moto GP season. It features all the riders and bikes and 18 different circuits to test your skills on.

If you’ve tried MotoGP 07 and had a hard time figuring it out, the developers have good news for you. A new arcade mode is supposed to make the handling of the bikes easier and the AI opponents a little less tough. Once you master arcade mode you can move up to intermediate and simulation modes to really test yourself. Capcom calls MotoGP 08 “the most accessible motorcycle racing game to date.”

You can ride as yourself as you compete against all the MotoGP riders. You also have three different engine classes to choose from: 125cc, 250cc and MotoGP. If you get tired of beating your friends or playing against AI opponents, on-line multiplayer modes allow you to take on gamers from around the world
