Mladin calls off WSBK comeback

Superbike champion still retired

By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Dec. 22, 2009
Mat Mladin will not return to racing in the World Superbike Championship.

The retired multiple-time AMA Superbike Champion posted the news on his Twitter page along with a tongue-in-cheek comment to AMA Pro Racing.

“No return for MM to racing in World SBK. Please take me back DMG (obi wan), you are my only hope ;-)” read Mladin’s post.

The post was Mladin’s first statement since his Dec. 9 post saying he had received a couple of offers.

Mladin was linked to the Reitwagen BMW team until it signed Andrew Pitt to ride the S1000RR alongside Roland Resch.
