Land speed record-holder Leslie Porterfield will appear at the 22nd annual AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Breakfast, March 5 in Daytona, Fla.

The 2008 AMA Racing Female Athlete of the Year, Porterfield holds two FIM world records: 232.522 mph in the 2,000cc Turbocharged category and 192.930 mph in the Production class. At the 2009 BUB Speed Trials, Porterfield was given the TOP Speed of the Meet award, topping all other riders with a speed of 240.382 mph.

Porterfield will lead the discussion at the Hall of Fame Breakfast, interviewing the guests of honor, land speed record holder Chris Carr and his record-setting motorcycle’s builder, Denis Manning.

Land speed record holder Leslie Porterfield recently paid a visit to FIM headquarters in Mies, Switzerland.

“Land-speed racing is one of the most exciting and pure types of motorcycling competition, and right now, Chris and Denis occupy the pinnacle of the sport,” says Porterfield. “I’m thrilled for the opportunity to sit on the stage with both of them and help the audience get the inside scoop on their record run – as well as how much faster they think they can go. Of course, it’s even better that we are able to support the important mission of the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum.”

Tickets for the event are available at AmericanMotorcyclist.com and MotorcycleMuseum.org $49 per person, $55 at the door, with proceeds benefiting the AMA Hall of Fame Museum.
