Legend of the Motorcycle postponed

Concours d’Elegance to resume in 2010

Organizers have postponed the 2009 Legend of the Motorcycle Concours d’Elegance.

The fourth annual event, originally scheduled for the May 2-3 2009, will resume in 2010 with Indian and NSU as the featured marques.

Organizers say the decision to postpone the Concours was due to the effect the economy was having on the event’s sponsors.

“We’d never do anything to compromise the quality of the Concours,” says event co-founder Jared Zaugg. “We’d rather suspend the event than Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Giacomo Agostini (center) inspects a bike with two judges.see it done halfway and I’m sure those who have participated would agree. This has been a true labor of love and something we strongly believe in, so we look forward to reinstating it after this hiatus.”

The 2008 Legend of the Motorcycle Concours d’Elegance, held in Half Moon Bay, Calif., drew thousands of visitors and notables including Jesse James of West Coast Choppers and 15-time Grand Prix champion Giacomo Agostini who was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
