Laguna Seca added to 2010 AMA schedule

AMA Pro Racing to support USGP
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Jan. 05, 2010
AMA Pro Racing has added a Laguna Seca round to its 2010 road racing schedule.

The American Superbike, Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes will race as the undercard for MotoGP at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, July 23-25, at the Monterey, Calif., circuit.

Laguna Seca was conspicuously absent from the preliminary AMA Pro Road Racing schedule released in November, though the earlier announcement did say AMA Pro Racing was in negotiations for an additional event.

AMA racers will be riding the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca again in 2010.

We are delighted to be returning to Monterey with the MotoGP World Championship Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, says David Atlas, chief operating officer of AMA Pro Racing. Our sport has a long standing history at Mazda Laguna Seca Raceway and we are pleased to again be a part of this important international event for motorcycle racing.

The Laguna Seca round will bring the 2010 AMA Pro Racing schedule to 10 events.

  • March 3 - 5 Daytona International Speedway (Daytona Beach, Florida)
