KTM RC8 available for a limited time
Customers interested in buying the 2009 model year bike will need to pay a $1,500 deposit to a KTM dealer in order to secure their RC8. The priority delivery deposit program will only be available until Dec. 31, 2008. Delivery will start early in 2009.
The decision to limit the RC8s availability is part of KTMs plan to weather current economic conditions. KTMs sales for the 2007-2008 fiscal year grew 7%, but the total earnings before interest and taxes decreased by 49.4% due to the slumping U.S. dollar.
In November, KTM announced a 10% reduction in production for the 2008-2009 fiscal year.
