Husqvarna Offers $11M Contingency for 2010
“Think of it as the Husqvarna Bailout Program,” says Scot Harden, Husqvarna marketing & racing chief and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer. “Even though the economy is going through some tough times, now isn't the time to back down. Our support for all levels of racing has never been stronger.”
With a contingency fund of $11,678,993, Husqvarna boasts the largest award package of any manufacturer in North American motorcycle racing. Together with its upcoming return to AMA National Enduro racing after a 20-year absence, Husqvarna is looking to re-establish itself in the North American market.
“We look forward to re-establishing Husqvarna as the leader in motocross and off-road racing so we are willing to put our money where our mouth is,” says Harden. “$406,905 in the GNCC, $308,765 in WORCS, $132,375 in AMA National Enduro, and $142,125 in AMA National Hare and Hound contingency alone.”
Husqvarna’s 2010 contingency program breaks down as follows:
- Off-road - $5,332,175
- Motocross - $5,671,944
- Supermoto - $588,175
- AMA Flat Track - $85,900
“Husqvarna had a winning year on the track and in the sales department this past year and we want to continue to reward Husqvarna racers accordingly in 2010,” says Mark Brady, president of Husqvarna Motorcycles North America. “This was a phenomenal result considering that 2009 was our first full year of operation in the U.S.A.”
